        He was born in Çanakkale on February 20th, 1958, fulfilled his elementary and secondary education in Çanakkale and entered the Naval High School in 1972. He graduated from Naval College in 1980 and respectively attended the ASW Specialization Course in 1985, Patrol Boat Commandership Course in 1986, German Language Course in 1988-1989, the Naval War Academy in 1992-1994 and graduated from the Armed Forces Academy in 1997.
